Staff Accountant

Quality Brand Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at our Restaurant Support Team office in Stamford, CT. The ideal candidate will maintain financial statements, accounts payables, and manage bank reconciliations.
The primary function of the Staff Accountant role is to work with the Accounting Department to maintain financial statements, monitor accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
Day-to-Day Accountabilities/Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Create by accounting period sales by location journal entries
• Download cash, credit card, gift card and 3rd party deposits from appropriate websites.
• Review and verify Cash/Credit Card and 3rd Party deposits
• Prepare information to create Cost of Goods Sales report (Upload invoices from DCP, enter store transfers of product)
• Create banking entries into banking module
• Work with store teams and operations to review vendor invoices and input into payable system
• Classify invoices to the proper G/L account
• Maintain vendor master files
• Respond to vendor inquiries about payment status
• Retrieve copies of payments
• Process requests for stop payments
• Prepare checks to vendors based on due dates or company instruction
• Reconcile vendor statements to accounts payable ledger
• Reconcile cash, credit card, and 3rd party deposits
• Reporting on detailed aged payables and cash requirements
• Prepare invoice adjustment notices
• Analyze vendor accounts
• Maintain accounts payable reports and accounts payable files
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Assist in month end closing procedures
• Assist with special projects
Year End
• Assist in reconciliation general ledger accounts to prepare for year end audit
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or Business Degree with 1-2 years equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in financial concepts such as accrual accounting, debits & credits, and financial analysis.
Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
